Syska uses energy use characterization to understand a project’s specific energy use profile and help inform opportunities for improvement. Our iterative energy modeling allows us to improve the performance of building and system components, as well as optimize the interaction between the elements– e.g. the push and pull of envelope performance vs. lighting and HVAC performance. Further, we are experts at the detailed energy modeling that is ultimately included for documentation of environmental certification programs and code compliance such as LEED and ASHRAE 90.1. Syska has team of professionals with significant experience in identifying energy efficiency measures and have worked on numerous ASHRAE Level I, II and/or III audits.
Syska has expertise providing energy-optimizing building improvements, including initial energy-use analysis and utilizing walk-through facility surveys to learn construction, equipment, and O&M practices. Our designers have experience analyzing the building envelope, lighting, plug loads, HVAC, domestic hot water, laundry, food prep, refrigeration, vertical transportation/conveying systems, pools/saunas/spas and process load. Certified professionals perform calculations, energy modeling, and life-cycle cost analysis to develop and sort energy-efficiency measures by life-cycle cost and return on investment. Our team is familiar with current utility rebate programs and can assist in identifying measures to maximize available rebates.
