Retro-Commissioning (RCx)
ComEd's Retro-Commissioning (RCx) Program is designed to help commercial, industrial, and public sector customers in northern Illinois optimize their building systems for improved energy efficiency and reduced operational costs.
Participants can expect average energy savings of 5–15% of annual usage. The program offers fully funded engineering studies to identify low-cost operational improvements with simple paybacks of less than 18 months, in addition to other performance-based incentives and additional incentives for select communities.

New Construction IncentiveList Item 4
The New Construction Program offering provides technical assistance and financial incentives to building owners, developers, and design team to encourage building design that exceed industry-standard practices and Illinois Energy Conservation Code requirements. Eligible project include both new construction and major renovations. Support includes whole-building energy modeling and project guidance during the pre-design or early design phases, enabling participants make informed decisions that deliver significant long-term energy and cost savings.

Instant Discounts offers commercial, industrial, and public sector customers point-of-sale discounts on qualified lighting, HVAC equipment, fork truck, and industrial battery charger products that are sold through participating distributors.

Custom IncentiveList Item 3
The Custom Program identifies and implements site-specific and unique cost-effective energy efficiency opportunities that are not available via other portfolio offerings. The Custom offering provides incentives that range from 7 to 18 cents per kWh saved depending on the project. Certain upgrades to water and wastewater treatment facilities can earn up to 21 cents per kWh saved. Measures include process efficiency improvements that save energy.

Strategic Energy Management (SEM)List Item 2
Strategic Energy Management (SEM) is a holistic, long-term program focused on operations and maintenance as well as behavioral and cultural aspects of how an organization uses energy. SEM helps organizations embed energy efficiency into their operations and company culture. SEM provides tools, coaching, and technical resources to support customers’ energy goals through a year-long series of workshops and one-on-one coaching. It draws on principles of continuous improvement and organizational change and integrates Lean, Six Sigma, and other cost savings and operational excellence initiatives. SEM provides incentives for behavioral energy savings as well as operational measures.
